Executive summary

Bosnia and Herzegovina:

• Director of the Energy Community Secretariat Janez Kopac has said that BiH will probably introduce a tax on carbon dioxide emissions very soon. 

• Balkan leaders adopted an action plan to create a common market and a joint environmental agenda for the region.
• Bosnia’s Federation motorway company Autoceste FBiH signed a EUR 208.1 Million deal with Turkey’s Cengiz for the Corridor Vc section.

Croatia:

North Macedonia:

• • Stronger private sector, infrastructure and regional connectivity, envisaged by EBRD memorandum.
  • The credit agency “Fitch” projects a decline of the Macedonian economy by 5% this year.
  • Deputy Prime Minister Bytyqi and Ambassador Chinese Zhuo argue that there are many opportunities to enhance economic cooperation with China. 

Romania: 

• CNAIR announced a tender for a construct estimated at EUR 800 million for the construction of another 41 km of the Transylvania Highway. 
• The Bucharest Court of Appeal obliges CNAIR to re-evaluate the offers for section 4 of the Craiova-Pitesti Expressway after a contract was already signed in September. 
• The mega-auction for 40 new trains in Romania is resumed. The court ordered the re-evaluation of all three offers. 
• Possible end of the odyssey of the Chinese 600 MW coal group from the Rovinari thermal power plant.
• Serious designers stay away from the Comarnic-Brasov Highway due to the many problems presented by the tender for the preparation of the highway. 

Serbia:

Slovenia:
